Malacañang has declared March 17, 2025 a special non-working day in Davao City for the celebration of its Araw ng Pasasalamat sa 88th Araw ng Davao.
Proclamation No. 825 states it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Davao be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.
The proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 11, the day when former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested and transported to The Hague in The Netherlands to face trial over crimes against humanity charges.
Davao City is the bailiwick of the Dutertes.
The 88th Araw ng Dabaw kicked off last March 1 at the Rizal Park after a Holy Mass at the San Pedro Cathedral.
